Check-up and Clean
Keeping your teeth and gums in great condition
all year round
When was the last time you had a dental check-up and clean?
When you visit us for the first time at Authentic Dentistry, we’ll take a thorough look at your mouth, teeth, gums, cheeks and jaw to ensure that everything is functioning as it should. We’ll also take X-Rays if needed, so that we can clearly see what’s going on inside your mouth.
By seeing us for a regular dental check-up and clean, smaller problems in your mouth can be detected and managed before they turn into more problematic (and expensive!) issues.
Each time you visit us our dentist will examine your mouth while our dental hygienist completes the scale and clean so that you leave our clinic with a sparkling smile!
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I prepare for a dental check-up and clean?
Wondering whether you should brush your teeth before coming in for a check-up and clean? The answer is yes! It’s great to brush and floss your teeth before your appointment. That being said, if you forget it’s not the end of the world. Any food particles in your mouth will be effectively removed when your teeth are cleaned.
Can I get a check-up and clean if I’m pregnant?
Absolutely, just let us know that you’re pregnant at the beginning of your appointment. We will take extra precautions if X-Rays are required to ensure your growing baby stays safe.
When can I eat and drink again after a dental check-up and clean?
If you’ve had fluoride varnish applied during your dental check-up and clean, we recommend avoiding drinks like coffee, tea and red wine after a dental check-up and clean. However, if you’re hankering for that coffee then consuming it 30 minutes after your appointment is fine.
